Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Following all safety rules and practices
Leading extrusion/billet department associates, including serving as coach and counselor regarding professional development and when situations arise that affect employee job performance;
Supervising extrusion/billet associates, including prioritizing and assigning work, and monitoring the quality and quantity of the work performed;
Scheduling material in and out of department; all while adhering to established procedures.
Establishing work practices, and training extrusion and billet associates;
Requesting materials, parts, and supplies as required;
Conducting/attending regular meetings with all associates/management to provide quality and performance feedback, address operating issues, provide training, and work on continuous improvement projects;
Implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas;
Taking and maintaining accurate inventories of Work In Process
Insuring that associates perform required inspections and tests;
Preparing and maintaining accurate records/logs;
Maintaining accurate records in a database to track material movement;
Maintaining inspections, registrations and vehicle titles;
Maintaining teamwork with other associates;
Maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping; and
Performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma with secondary education preferred
Minimum Five(5) years of prior extrusion and/or billet experience.
Moderate to advanced computer skills
The ability to perform the duties / responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation
The ability to have professional judgment/ decision making skills in customer related situations
Knowledge and understanding of presses/heat extrusion process, billet manufacturing recording processes
The ability to give instructions, and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
