The primary purpose of the Safety position is to assist in maintaining and reviewing Safety Programs and Policies, maintaining compliance with Safety regulations and guidelines, and conducting training and development activities to enhance overall safety at the Camden, NJ manufacturing facility.
Essential Job Functions
Review, update, and implement any Safety Programs and Policies.
Track and maintain incident rates for recordable and lost time injuries.
File incident reports for Holtec Corporate as part of record keeping.
Help maintain any records related to the Holtec Fitness For Duty Program
Conduct Safety Training and ongoing Training sessions for Project Managers, Supervisors, Laborers, and relevant Office personnel.
Design Safety Training power points and training manuals.
Order training materials and safety videos.
Comply with and conduct any training activities required at all Power Plant job site locations.
Compliance with Safety Standards & Guidelines
Conduct Safety walks and look for any violations or hazards.
Investigate accidents, relevant near-misses, and injuries to determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
Implement the use of new safety items: tools, equipment, signs, etc.
Conduct safety audits and review Safety Programs/Policies at all Holtec Project/Site Locations
Communicate with Power Plant Managers & Supervisors
Understand what each specific site will be required to comply with based off the Scope of Work/Site Agreement
Prevent Safety issues and reinforce Safety Programs at an individual, group, and organizational-wide level.
Utilizing disciplinary action process and performance improvement programs.
Act as first point of contact for Workman’s Compensation issues and claims.
Call in injury reports and file claims with the insurance company.
Set-up drug screens and physicals for on-site personnel, Project Managers, and relevant Office personnel as part of the requirements to gain restricted access at any Power Plant location.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
The position requires a B.S. in Safety or Industrial Hygiene to minimally perform the job duties.
5-10+ years’ experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting is preferred.
