Camden, NJ
Full Time
Entry Level
Position: Equipment Delivery Field Representative

Location: Camden, NJ; KPSTC

Holtec International is seeking an Equipment Delivery Field Representative to join our Site Services team. This role involves dual focus: in-office project planning/oversight and on-site equipment delivery and assembly coordination. You will plan projects at our Camden, NJ headquarters and travel to nuclear power plant sites across the U.S. to lead the delivery and assembly of Holtec-manufactured Dry Cask Storage components (such as HI-STORM casks, MPCs, Vertical Cask Transporters, and other ancillary equipment). Approximately 50% of the role is office-based planning, and 50% involves travel for on-site execution. This position offers an exciting mix of project management duties and field leadership responsibilities in a critical area of the nuclear energy industry.

Minimum required qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, etc.) is a plus but not mandatory. Experience in the nuclear industry, power plant operations, or general construction field is preferred (but not required). Prior experience with field service, heavy equipment delivery, or project coordination in an industrial setting will be advantageous. Any relevant certifications (OSHA safety training, Project Management, CDL/license for equipment, etc.) are beneficial, though not required. Holtec will provide necessary training for specialized tasks and safety protocols.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:
  • Project Planning & Vendor Coordination: Contact and evaluate vendors to secure equipment delivery and assembly project quotes. Develop project cost models to compare vendor proposals and assist in selecting the best options. Prepare and issue purchase orders once vendors are selected, ensuring all procurement follows company guidelines.
  • Client & Site Preparation: Interface directly with Holtec clients and site personnel to plan logistics and support. Coordinate site access requirements, security clearances, and any needed services (such as concrete supply) to prepare for equipment delivery and installation. Ensure all pre-project planning is in place for smooth on-site operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Travel to supplier facilities (e.g., concrete batch plants and test labs) to perform quality surveillance in line with Holtec’s QC guidelines. Verify that materials and services meet our standards before and during project execution.
  • On-Site Leadership: Served as the on-site lead during equipment deliveries and installations at nuclear plant locations. Conduct daily morning briefings/safety meetings with project crew members to outline tasks, address safety protocols, and align the team on project goals. Provide clear direction and leadership to all on-site personnel and contractors.
  • Equipment Delivery & Assembly: Oversee the safe delivery, off-loading, and assembly of Dry Cask Storage equipment at client sites. Ensure all handling and assembly procedures are executed safely and efficiently, in compliance with Holtec and site-specific standards.
  • Concrete Pour Oversight: Supervise on-site concrete placement into HI-STORM casks as the final step of the installation. Coordinate timing and quality of concrete pours, ensuring they meet technical specifications and safety requirements.
  • Travel & Project Execution: Travel regularly (approximately 50% of the time) to job sites nationwide to manage field operations. Typical on-site projects last about 1–2 weeks (occasionally up to 3 weeks). Holtec provides full travel accommodation (company-booked flights, rental car with fuel, hotel) and a daily per diem for food during field assignments. Any required overtime during projects is compensated per company policy.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Nuclear Site Access: Must meet requirements to obtain an Unescorted Access badge for nuclear power plants (includes passing drug/alcohol screenings, clearing background checks, and maintaining a valid driver’s license).
  • Physical Capability: Physically able to work in industrial and outdoor environments. This includes standing for long periods, climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for project documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a field crew. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to conduct effective briefings and present information clearly to clients and team members. Public speaking or presentation ability is a plus for training and meetings.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple project tasks, from paperwork and planning to on-site coordination. Good time management and problem-solving abilities to address challenges quickly and keep projects on track.
