Holtec International, a turnkey supplier of the small modular reactor SMR-300 , and a leading provider of nuclear power plant equipment & systems to the global nuclear industry, seeks applicants to join the Company’s technology campus in Camden(NJ) or at one of its operation centers located in North Pittsburgh (PA), Madrid (Spain) , Bristol (UK), Kyiv (Ukraine) or Pune (India). At present, Holtec has six positions open for candidates with qualifications ranging from fresh graduates to deeply experienced specialists in the nuclear engineering/ physics field. The associate may express their wish to work at any of the Company’s operation centers mentioned above. Regardless of their place of work, every associate will be an integral part of the team of specialists led by SVP Dr Stefan Anton based in the Corporate Engineering Center in Camden, NJ. This recruitment campaign seeks applicants with strong academic credentials and various levels of academic and industrial experience. Holtec’s nuclear specialists are routinely involved in interaction with the US national labs, USNRC, operating nuclear power plants and overseas regulatory authorities which would involve occasional domestic and international travel.
The successful candidate will be called upon to perform nuclear criticality and shielding analyses using state-of-the-art software such as MCNP, CASMO/SIMULATE and SCALE. Depending on their experience, the associate will also have the opportunity to work in developing core loading plans for the reactor at the Company-owned Palisades nuclear plant and for the fleet of SMR-300s that the Company is scheduled to provide to its global clients in the near future.
The applicant must have a B.S. degree in nuclear engineering, preferably with an advanced degree (MS or Ph D) in a relevant nuclear sub-discipline. Industrial or academic experience in the nuclear energy field, general knowledge of nuclear power plant operations/physics, demonstrated neutronics or radiation transport analytical skills, and experience with computer languages such as Python are among the prized professional attributes that would be considered favorably in the selection of applicants for experienced positions.
