Job Summary:
The Security Shift Supervisor (SSS) reports to their Security Operations Supervisor (SOS). The SSS is the first-line supervisor to a group of Security Officers at the site and provides daily and direct oversight and monitoring of their assigned Security Officers. SSS are accountable for the performance of their assigned Security Officers and provide direct supervision, performance management, and implementation of any disciplinary process for their assigned Security Officers. SSS also are responsible for providing safe, effective oversight for the implementation of the Site Security's NRC-approved Physical Security Plan and implementing procedures, in accordance with 10CFR73.55, and Holtec Security International's business policies, procedures and standards.

The Security Shift Supervisor, in addition to having the appropriate technical and tactical mindset, must be able to instill public and regulatory confidence in this role, and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Supervising Nuclear Security Officers and monitoring and operating Alarm Stations at the site.
- Monitor and ensure that response to all alarms is timely and properly investigated.
- Keep security management apprised of matters relating to site security. This includes properly briefing the oncoming relief SSS.
- Ensuring that Collective Bargaining Agreements are reviewed and consistently followed and enforced within the appropriate processes.
- Investigate incidents or reported findings which affect security performance (including FFD issues)
- Conduct post checks throughout the shift and take corrective action when needed.
- Complete and/or review required inventories and reports generated by the shift.
- Ensure the intrusion detection system, communication systems, and equipment checks are completed as required.
- Report security deficiencies, and vehicle and equipment failures to the Security Operations Supervisor
- Assist and communicate with off-site officials (NRC, LLEA/Emergency Responders, and company personnel) when needed.
- Provide coaching and counseling as necessary.
- Ensure prompt and accurate performance of all required administrative tasks.
- Take appropriate disciplinary action when needed.
- Participating as a member of the interview panel for the Security Officer position, making recommendations on whether to make job offers to applicants.
- Ensure all personnel meet FFD requirements.
- Assisting the Security Manager, Security Superintendent, and Security Operations Supervisors with site investigations
- Implementing compensatory measures in accordance with the Physical Security Plan requirements
- Interfacing with the various Station departments and coordinating support activities.
- Performing technical reviews of Security procedures, policies and post order revisions
- Assuming the role of Security Operations Supervisor as designated, during off hours.
- Provide daily briefing for all on-coming personnel.
- Ensure ongoing and off-going weapons are properly accounted for.
- Perform all other duties as directed.
- Maintain physical fitness/FFD standards.
- Maintain firearm and physical agility standards.
- Maintain Unescorted Access.
- Maintain access to Safeguards Information.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Security Shift Supervisor, in addition to having the appropriate technical and tactical mindset, must be able to instill public and regulatory confidence in this role, and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age is 21.
- Minimum 1 year in nuclear security.
- Desired: 3 years nuclear facility (preferably in security), military or law enforcement experience with 3 years being supervisory experience.
- Desired: B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations or equivalent work experience.
- Desired: Supervisory experience
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain initial and maintain annual weapons qualifications.
