Job Summary:
The Human Performance Program Coordinator will lead a site-wide Human Performance (HU) strategy aimed at reducing human error, improving operational and safety performance, and driving continuous improvement. This role is essential in promoting excellence through collaboration, investigation, coaching, and strategic planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive Human Performance Plan across the site to reduce error-driven events.
- Review station operating procedures to identify performance-related gaps and safety concerns (nuclear, radiological, and personal).
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Training, and other departments to investigate human errors and develop corrective actions.
- Recommend proactive changes to methods, materials, and procedures to eliminate potential error traps.
- Support plant event and condition report investigations, including development of corrective actions in the HU arena.
- Assist with industrial safety event reviews, including analysis of human performance contributions and corrective action planning.
- Investigate HU-related issues as assigned by leadership and support cause analyses with a focus on human performance factors.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to departmental HU advocates and representatives.
- Promote plant performance improvement through HU initiatives and training.
- Review and assess applicable HU-related Operating Experience (OE) from across the nuclear industry and determine relevance to site operations.
- Collaborate with the Training department to develop and deploy HU training programs.
- Analyze station observations, condition reports, near-misses, and event data to identify trends, strengths, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist site departments in developing strategic and tactical improvement plans; promote a culture of excellence.
- Share findings and insights from data analysis to enhance awareness and drive performance.
- Benchmark human performance and safety leaders across the industry to inform new initiatives.
- Perform Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Industrial Safety, or a related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7 years in an Industrial Safety position implementing industrial safety improvements and managing industrial safety programs.
- Demonstrated experience in Human Performance programs or methodologies.
- Proficient in creating and administering programmatic training.
- Ability to support and contribute to cause analyses, including identification of contributing HU factors and corrective action development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to prioritize and deliver quality results on time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, team leadership, and analytical skills; customer-focused and solutions-oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willing and able to travel for industry benchmarking and site support as needed.
- Must reside within site-specific Emergency Response Organization (ERO) response time.
