Position: 2025 Summer Intern – Systems and Programs Engineering
Location: Palisades Energy
Dates/ Duration: Summer 2025 (approx. May - September)
Holtec Palisades seeks a highly motivated Summer Intern for the company’s Systems and Programs Engineering Department located at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.
Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!
In order to be considered, candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university. Pay will be determined based on years completed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with System Engineering activities and responsibilities
- Assisting with Program Engineering activities and responsibilities
- Assisting senior engineers with engineering products and presentations to other departments
- Performing plant walkdowns in an industrial facility to support engineering deliverables
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Instrument & Controls, or Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum requirement is to be in Junior or Senior year of Bachelor’s degree.
- In good academic standing, with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Well organized and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and appropriate attitude, appearance, interpersonal skills, and work ethic.
- Enjoys working in the plant on various projects that are not inner-related.
Desirable Additional Qualifications:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Has good leadership skills.
- Has previous work experience or has been a volunteer.
