Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking an IT Specialist to join the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant team in Covert, MI.

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly capable IT support specialist to provide technical assistance to our staff. In this role, your duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, enhancing system performance, and securing data. You will also be required to advise on IT equipment upgrades.

To ensure success as an IT support specialist, you should possess extensive experience in providing information technology support in a fast-paced environment. Top-notch IT support specialists contribute to increased productivity by ensuring that company IT systems run efficiently.

JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day-to-day functions related with workstations, laptops, wireless 3G/4G modems and other mobile devices.
  • To provide first line response for users requiring assistance with hardware and network connectivity issues & problems.
  • Experience in supporting busy, fast-paced high-level executives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desktop support (help desk) experience in an enterprise environment with 200+ nodes.
  • To assist Network and System Administrator with the installation, upgrade and maintenance.
  • To provide basic training and support to users regarding the use of various hardware devices and maintain data security.
  • User education in utilizing network shares and home shares for easier server backup.
  • Manage upgrade & migration of data from old PCs to new PCs and other devices.
  • Experience in large scale XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro migrations in a Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Experience in deploying Windows 10 and 11 Professional.
  • Experience with imaging software such as Acronis or Ghost and Managed Engine
  • Experience with Windows user profiles and user file transfer for OS upgrades.
  •  Experience supporting and administering Office 365.
  •  Keeping the software (Flash, Java, etc.) as well as the OS up to date on all the workstations.
  • Experience in hard-to-detect malware/rootkit detection/removal utilizing tools such as Mal-ware Bytes, GMER, HiJack This, TDSSKiller, resetting Winsock, and whatever tool is needed.
  • Experience in workstation performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting / troubleshooting a multitude of web application frontends, running Chrome.
  • Using Help Desk Ticketing and proficient in remote troubleshooting.
  • Time management skills working Help Desk as well as ongoing projects on a daily basis.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Essential Qualification: A+, Network+, Server+, Microsoft and Cisco
  • Desirable Qualifications: Linux

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years senior level support in a fast-paced 200+ node enterprise environment
