ISFSI Lead Security Shift Supervisor

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ISFSI Lead Security Shift Supervisor (LSSS) reports to the Security Superintendent. The LSSS provides managerial oversight and supervision to a group of Security Shift Supervisors. LSSS have ultimate responsibility for their assigned security teams’ performance. This position is also responsible for providing safe, effective oversight for the implementation of the ISFSI Security’s NRC approved Physical Security Plan and implementing procedures, in accordance with 10CFR72.212, 10CFR37, 10CFR20, HSI policies, procedures and standards. This is accomplished by the following:
- Ensuring that their assigned SSSs are providing direct supervision to their assigned Security Officers and are executing and maintaining all of their assigned supervisory tasks.
- Reviewing SSSs discipline and personnel records in accordance with HR Policies and standards
- Administering the MARC progressive discipline process for their direct reports
- Performing evaluations of SSSs and providing input for incentive while mentoring for succession planning and development of SSS.
- Approving SSS time sheets, reviewing shift grievances and responses,
- The LSSS will adjust their schedule accordingly to allow time to be out in the field engaging their team while on shift on a weekly basis.
- Reviewing assigned team’s Job Performance Measures, coaching data, qualification review; Perform On The Job training, Job Performance Measures and Task Performance Evaluations; Verifying SSS and SFM are qualified to perform assigned tasks at all times; Ensuring there are no conflicts between the Security Operations and Security Training schedules
- Verify Security Equipment is tested and declared operable prior to use; Interfacing with various station departments and coordinating support activities; Maintaining site maintenance and lay down areas to ensure there is no impact to security operations; Performing oversight and interface for Security equipment challenges with various station departments,
- Acting as the department lead for facility housekeeping.
- Ordering, tracking, and managing Security Uniform and Duty gear inventories within allocated budgets, for issuance and replacement.
- Performing Technical reviews of Security procedures, policies and post order revisions; Implement actions resulting from the Corrective Action Program; Works with SSS performing corrective actions, Safeguards work, review, filing and storage of daily paperwork , self-assessment field work, assists with security key control program and other senior supervisor tasks, maintain and implementing the Lock and Key Control Program;
- Assisting the Security Superintendent and Manager with site investigations
- Acting on behalf of the Security Superintendent in their absence
- All other requirements as specified by the Security Manager or Security Superintendent
- Performs duties of Emergency Director for Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Only Emergency Plan.
- Determine ISFSI Reportability and operability.
- Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including Radiation Protection, Access Authorization, Emergency Plan, Incipient Fire Brigade, etc
- Coordinate the repair of degraded conditions of security posts and equipment.
EDUCATION, LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The ISFSI Lead Security Shift Supervisor, in addition to having the appropriate technical and tactical mindset, must be able to instill public and regulatory confidence in this role, and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Desired: B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations or equivalent work experience.
- Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain initial and maintain annual weapons qualifications.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain License to Carry (LTC). Where applicable.
- If previously employed, meaningful and verifiable work history.

SALARY RANGE:
Minimum: $72,000.00
Maximum: $108,000.00
